Zac takes part in Goring 10K run

03.03.2013 News

Zac returned to competitive action last weekend for the first time since the Olympic Games last August, joining several hundred runners in the Goring-on-Thames 10K.

Zac used the event as part of a continued training programme in preparation for the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon which he hopes to contest in mid-March.

Although disappointed with his time (and ever the perfectionist!), Zac was pleased to join the popular local event.

He said: “I have been running a lot this year in the hope of taking part in the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon, so I thought it would be nice to ease myself in with a 10k run. The Goring event was really fun and the organisers should commend themselves on a job well done. I was hoping for a quicker time but it’s all good experience and it was certainly a change to compete on foot rather than on water. I had some helpful hints from long distance runner Andrew Lemoncello last year and some assistance from Mizuno with footwear and running attire, all of which came in very useful.”
