Zac recognised at Get Berkshire Active Inspiration Awards
Zac was one of the award-winners at the inaugural Get Berkshire Active Inspiration and Participation Awards at Reading’s Madejski Stadium on the 8TH February.
Zac was on hand to present several of the awards to the worthy winners in a ceremony attended by over 240 people including 100 nominees and eventual winners.
Hosted by BBC Radio Berkshire’s Tim Dellor, the event paid homage to the host of Olympians with links to the county of Berkshire, including Zac who lived in the Reading area for a number of years and who still gets involved in local community initiatives in and around the region.
Zac joined fellow GB rowers, as well as hockey star Hannah MacLeod and Kayak medallist Jon Schofield.
The Mayors from Reading, Slough, Wokingham and the Town Mayor of Thatcham were also on hand to present the awards to the winners.
Zac said: “It was a privilege to present a number of the Berkshire Inspiration and Participation Awards to such worthy winners. It was also an honour to join some of the region’s Olympians to receive a Team GB award, recalling a majestic summer of sport for our country in 2012. I have had the privilege to be involved with some of the nominees and it was humbling to spend an evening recognising the immense dedication and passion of some truly fantastic people.”
