Zac joined forces with fellow sports heroes Steve Backley and Sophie Christiansen last Friday to take on a special superhero themed challenge at the launch of a charity partnership between David Lloyd Leisure and Together For Short Lives, the leading charity for UK children’s hospices.

The dynamic trio were joined by school children and David Lloyd Kids to celebrate Superhero Friday – a special day of hero inspired fundraising in aid of children’s hospices. Zac took part in a game of mini tennis with the children at David Lloyd Raines Park in south-west London on the final day of Children’s Hospice Week, the UK’s only charity week for children with life-limiting conditions.

Together for Short Lives has been chosen by David Lloyd Leisure as its charity of the year for 2013-2014.

Zac said: “It was great to be part of the David Lloyd and Together for Short Lives event last Friday to encourage young children to get involved in sport, while raising awareness and funds for such an important charity. We had a tremendous number of very excited children join in the fun with some colourful super hero outfits on display, and it was a privilege to join David Lloyd Leisure in their support of Together for Short Lives.”

Scott Lloyd, chief executive of David Lloyd Leisure said: “Children and families are at the heart of our offering and we are very proud to be supporting Together for Short Lives, a remarkable charity that was selected by our own members and team members. We look forward to raising funds throughout the year in our clubs across the country, which will directly benefit those children’s hospices undertaking incredible work in their local communities.”
